Facilities

The Gilhooly lab has two stable isotope ratio mass spectrometers. The MAT 252 can be run as either dual-inlet or by continuous flow. It is currently connected to a Gas Bench II for stable isotope analysis of carbonates. The Delta V is designed to analyze carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur by combustion in an elemental analyzer, and oxygen of sulfate, nitrate, or phosphate by pyrolysis with a TC/EA.

The geochemistry labs are well equipped to prepare and process a broad range of samples. We have an UIC Coulmetrics carbon analyzer for determining carbonate concentrations, a microbalance, chromium reduction lines, and a variety of other tools.

Please contact Bill Gilhooly for more information regarding cost per analysis.
